Dr. Marcilio is a Canadian licensed psychiatrist working in private practice in Toronto, Ontario, and in a consultant capacity at Frontenac Youth Services in Oshawa, Ontario. A researcher and guest speaker on child and adolescent psychiatry issues, Dr. Marcilio has spent a lifetime of service working to advance understanding and practices in his field. Professional organizations Dr. Milton Marcilio has written research papers for include the World Congress of Psychiatry, the International Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, and the World Psychiatric Association. In addition to his written research, Dr. Milton Marcilio has spoken at conferences in over five countries, including for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, the Children’s Aid Society of Metropolitan Toronto, and the World Health Organization at the United Nations on behalf of the government of Brazil.
Dr. Marcilio holds a medical license in both Ontario and the Province of Quebec from the College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition, he holds a certification in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the Province of Quebec. Dr. Marcilio received his degree in psychiatry – to include two years of specialization in child psychiatry – from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He completed his residency also at McGill, working at the Allan Memorial Institute of Psychiatry, the Jewish General Hospital, and the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Prior to attending McGill University, Dr. Marcilio earned his medical education from Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade da Bahia, Brazil’s oldest school for medicine.
